We’re Jarrod and Sarah, owners of Cold Water K9, a family-owned dog training business based in Green Cove Springs, FL, serving Jacksonville, St. Johns, St. Augustine, and surrounding areas.
As parents of two young kids with nearly 10 years of dog training experience, we know how important a well-behaved dog is to a busy household. We’re here to turn your dog into a reliable companion while giving your whole family the tools to succeed together.
Jarrod trained at the Michael Ellis School for Dog Trainers in Santa Rosa, California, and spent years apprenticing under industry-leading trainers. He specializes in obedience and behavior modification, helping families resolve unwanted behaviors and create structured, manageable homes. Jarrod is deeply committed to owner education, giving families the exact tools and confidence to maintain results at home.
Outside of client sessions with Cold Water K9, Jarrod has earned an HRC Started Title with his Labrador, Cowboy, trained service dogs for veterans, worked as a decoy for law enforcement K9s, and regularly trains in protection sports.
Meet our Trainer, Sarah Williams
Sarah handles daily operations, client communications, and in-home care for Cold Water K9, ensuring every dog receives structured, individualized attention. She brings a strong background in animal care as an experienced foster who previously managed a local TNR initiative, and she has competed in Rally Obedience, holding Novice and Intermediate titles with her dogs.
She holds degrees from Bowling Green State University and Ohio University. At home, Sarah and her family care for their own dogs, cats, and chickens, and she makes sure every client dog is welcomed and treated like part of the family.
Hands down the best decision we made for our two and four legged family! When we adopted Barry, we did not know that he had a reactivity issue until we were put in a very ugly situation. Sarah and Jared came highly recommended! We are so grateful that we ended up following through and continue to practice our commands at home to help keep us accountable. During their in-house board and train program as well as their follow up communication and flexibility is stellar! I personally feel confident while taking Barry on walks knowingly that we will see other dogs. He enjoys the learning process and so do I!

We can’t thank Jarrod and Sarah enough for the wonderful training experience we had with our rescue dog, Lucy.
We adopted Lucy, at 2 yo, from our local Humane Society. She adjusted to us quickly enough but we needed help with some basic training tips and socialization around others.
For us, the convenience of Jarrod coming to our house was invaluable - both due to tour work schedules but also so Lucy was learning in her home environment. Jarrod had such a calm, patient demeanor with both us and Lucy. Helping us to know the best way to approach different situations we were dealing with. We appreciated his flexibility in tailoring the training sessions to our needs with her.
Sarah was great at organizing sessions and was our initial contact, helping to reassure us about some of Lucy’s challenges. We highly recommend Cold Water K-9 and Jarrod and Sarah.
Jarrod and Sarah are fantastic and I highly recommend their training. Before we got our new puppy, we knew training would be a must. We did the board and train program and it helped us get a jump start on training the new member of our family. Jarrod and Sarah were available with any questions we had along the way and are very knowledgeable. You can tell they really care about the dogs. We plan on working with them in the future for the adult program as well!
Jarrod and Sarah are amazing! I would recommend them to anyone looking for some help with training. They are very dedicated and knowledgeable.( not to mention wonderful people) They helped me so much with my golden doodle Archie. He had a lot of behavioral issues. I never thought I would be the dog mom that could actually take her dog on walks in public settings and outdoor dinning. We have enjoyed all of that and more thanks to Cold Water K9. I can’t say enough good things about these two. The in home sessions were a game changer. I needed the training as much as Archie did. AMAZING work with our dog Rocky. Before Cold Water K9, Rocky barked at everything outside the house, noises inside the house and our guests. The doorbell was a huge trigger. He was awful on walks and traveling to pet friendly hotels. Lastly he barked at other dogs. He was the complete opposite of our first dog and these behaviors left us clueless. My husband wanted to get rid of Rocky and Cold Water K9 came to his
rescue! We now know several commands to keep Rocky in check. The barking is at an appropriate level, he plays well with others and LOVES to travel. We are able to control him on walks and bring him to pet friendly restaurants and businesses. His favorite is going to Chipotle and the bank(he’s so good at the bank they love him there.)My husband has grown to love him and so have our guests. Lastly, when we go on vacation without Rocky we know he has a comfortable and safe home boarding with Cold Water K9. We are so grateful for Jarrod and Sarah.
